This End-User Licence Agreement (the "EULA") is a legally binding agreement between you (the "Licensee") and MineStar Network ("we", "us", "the Licensor"). By installing, copying or otherwise using StarChat (the "Software" — the JAR file, its bundled assets, and any update we ship under the same name), you accept this EULA. If you do not accept it, do not install or use the Software.
This EULA is in addition to, and forms part of, our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where it conflicts with the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service prevail on commercial matters (price, refunds, governing law); this EULA prevails on technical matters (what you may and may not do with the Software itself).
Subject to your full and continued compliance with this EULA, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to:
Each of the three server slots is bound to an IP address through the licence-verification mechanism. If you need to move the licence to a different server, revoke the old slot in your dashboard at /dashboard first.
The Software is licensed, not sold. We retain all right, title and interest in and to the Software, including all intellectual-property rights. No rights are granted to you by implication, estoppel or otherwise except those expressly listed in this EULA.
You may NOT, and may not let any third party:
Your licence key (format SC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) is personal and confidential. Treat it like a password. Do not paste it in public Discord channels, GitHub issues, screenshots or forum posts. If you suspect it has leaked, rotate it immediately in your dashboard.
On startup, the Software contacts the licence-verification endpoint and reports: the licence key, the server IP and port, the Minecraft version, the server software (Paper / Folia / …) and the current concurrent player count. This data is processed as described in our Privacy Policy. If verification fails, the Software refuses to start. This behaviour is by design and may not be circumvented under section 3.
We may publish updates (bug fixes, new features, security patches). Updates are part of the Software and are governed by this EULA. We may also publish breaking changes; in that case we'll document the migration path in the changelog at /changelog. We are under no obligation to update the Software, but where we do, the update is delivered free of charge to active licensees within the major-version line they purchased.
The Software bundles or links the following open-source components, used under their respective licences. Their licences prevail over this EULA only for the components themselves:
Full third-party notices ship inside the JAR under NOTICE and are also available on request.
We may audit licence usage by analysing the verification telemetry described in section 4. If we find a single licence used on more than three IPs you don't operate, we may treat that as evidence of redistribution and act under section 8.
This EULA terminates automatically and immediately if you breach any of its terms, particularly section 3. We may also terminate for cause as set out in section 7 of the Terms of Service. On termination, you must:
Termination for breach does not entitle you to a refund — see section 5 of the Terms of Service.
EXCEPT WHERE REQUIRED BY MANDATORY LAW, THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL OPERATE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE. YOU BEAR THE ENTIRE RISK FOR THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE SOFTWARE.
Liability is limited as set out in section 10 of the Terms of Service, which is incorporated here by reference. In particular, we have no liability for lost gameplay data, server downtime, lost player retention, or any other indirect or consequential damage. Our total liability is capped at the price you paid for the licence.
You confirm you are not located in, and will not use the Software from, a jurisdiction subject to comprehensive EU sanctions, and you are not on any EU, UN, UK or US sanctions list. You may not re-export or transfer the Software in violation of applicable export-control laws.
This EULA is governed by the laws of Spain and the European Union. Disputes arising from or relating to this EULA fall under the exclusive jurisdiction described in section 14 of the Terms of Service.
This EULA, together with the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement between you and MineStar Network regarding the Software, and supersedes any prior or contemporaneous understanding.
